This racoon jacket
knit using real racoon yarn.
As in: not fun fur!
You can buy a kit to knit this racoon jacket from Fur Yarn. I know lots of knitters love to hate man made fibers; some disdain those who cheap out and use fun fur.
Well, guess what? This isn’t artificial fur yarn. That’s right: Knitters can now spend $782 to knit a jacket using yarn made from genuine fur pelts.

The model looks so bewildered — and no wonder.

Great, glam raccoon in the big city. Do you think the PETA folks would trash it as fur, or would they be bewildered?

She looks like a wookie. A berry wookie. Not a good look.

Oh, YUK! This would be lovely for “you knit WHAT!” I know this blog isn’t “you knit WHAT!!” but this thing is… fugly, and makes me spout sarcastic comments… I’m sorry if my opinion or choice of words offends anyone.
I’m sure PETA think’s this is real fur. It is. Waste of fur. Racoon fur looks good only on racoons, and this girl is no racoon. What ever made the creatrix of this wonder yarn to think it’s a good idea?
Didn’t they try this kind of fur yarn already in China? There were these rumors about the chinese weaving carpet of rat fur strips… I’m sure they were weaving fur of fur scraps, perhaps cats and dogs… that was back at 80’s when I was in the craft school.
Actually, IMHO, fun fur is the only right material for creating this kind of things… I can’t believe they actually killed animals so that some needlehappy knitter can knit THAT…

Ha! I like that her “your account” icon looks like roadkill.
(teeny flattish looking black thing in upper right)
I am very curious to know what her sales numbers are.

I also wonder what her sales numbers are. Has anyone read any articles in knitting magazines extolling this type of “yarn”?
