Dear Bevin,
I read your wonderful comment:
I remain a big fan of yours Lucia,
I am also a big fan of yours, and visit your site regularly. There, I read your delightful article The Yarn Bus: A Photo Essay(1). However, I became somewhat worried when I read this:
It’s a good thing we got to Lauren before any crocheters did, because we were able to warn her about the ickiness of crochet and the folk who practice said inferior fiber art (TM). We feel like we helped her dodge a major bullet.
Reading that triggered a nagging thought in my mind. I clicked back to my site and was saddened when I read the final portion of your comment , which ended:
even as we differ re: Ponchos and now Wallmart.
Saddened, because I fear my impending revelation will cause you to implement a “three strikes” clause and exit my fan club. Who wants to lose a fan?
Despite the risk, and my fears, I must be honest and not dupe you by failing to reveal the following:
Not wanting rub salt in the wound, or to increase the likelihood you will leave my fan-dom, I hesitate to reveal where I bought the “Caron Simply Soft” used to crochet the stitch pattern pictured to the right. ( Crochet fans: Some day, I may write up and publish the generator for a garment that can be crocheted using this stitch pattern. )
Love,
Lucia
End Notes:
1. Visitors are advised to visit The Yarn Bus: A Photo Essay to see pictures of the fantastic yarn bus and a “massive fiberglass yarn ball sheep” and a delightfully iridescent blue-green-yellow colorway.

Dear Lucia:
It is the position of the Totally Knitting Universe that any and all knitters can also crochet, provided that their primary fiber art is crochet. Our animosity towards crocheters stems mostly from people who exclusively crochet and do not like what they term as the “clacking of two needles together”. This is how we reconcile our adoration for Kevin, Man Crocheter of Flying Fingers Yarn Shoppe.
Rest assured that we still love you Lucia, despite this admission.
Watch out, though, you’ve still got two strikes.
In acrylic we trust,
Bevin

“provided that their primary fiber art is crochet.” I meant NOT crochet, but since there is this problem with the whole sidebar business, I couldn’t see that I had left out that important qualifier.
Love,
Bevin
P.S. Still a big fan!

Yes. I thought the poor quality comment box might be causing miscommunication. I wish I could fix the sidebar. Heck, tomorrow, I may actually look into it. However, if I fail, I will blame microsoft!

It is my hope that this commenting thing works. Oh, here it is working on this entry. Oh, that is marvelous. I can completely see what I am typing right this second.
Lucia, for your sake, I hope that you can purchase a yarn bus of your very own.

Maybe I can remodel our mini-van. (But, I don’t think Jim will tolerate that even if I knit him a $5,000,000,000 sweater out of Noro. We now read on the knitlist, it pills! )
