I’ve decided to knit the simple drop sleeve sweater in my size out of my “sunset” colored Cascade Quatro. This is a very simple shape, nearly seamless, and it should be easy to wear. I went to my Mirror Sweater page, entered my stitch and row gauge and used the pull down menu to chart a size 8. Then I printed them out; so, I’m all set with the directions. There’s big benefit of not knitting a new sweater style: No programing required. So what if Colocha and I wear the same style? Mine will be in yummy wool; her’s is knit in economical acrylic. Of course, I still need to finish Jim’s raglan. I did a bit of hand sewing while attending the knitting guild meeting last night at Knitche! in Downers Grove, Illinois. Unfortunately, we ran out of chairs, and I couldn’t really hog the table with my sewing. So, I didn’t finish, and I need to finish that up today. Then I have to go buy buttons! (You’d think I’d buy those first, right? Nah. Anyway, after that, I cast on my 72 stitches for the hand knit sweater and just knit! For some reason, I like hand knitting on weekends and machine knitting and writing generators on week days. So, with 2 days of weekend knitting coming up, I should make good progress on the drop sleeve sweater. I’ll show you how far along I got on Monday!
