My Yarn Arrived!

My Cascade Quatro yarn arrived. I’m so happy!

This is a nice pick me up on a day that did not start out well. This morning, the 14 month old old Maytag dishwasher was leaking — still leaking, I should say. Just a week ago, Jim replaced the handle, which had broken. When he fixed the handle, the door leaked.

Why? We do not know.

We’ve been trying to figure out how to fix this; Jim has been fiddling with the door, gaskets and what not. No matter how he adjusted things, it still leaked. Since we own the same model dishwasher as Jim’s brothers, we compared how our doors look. They look the same.

Then, Sunday, Jim surfed the web and read that, for some mysterious reason, our model of Maytag dishwasher sometimes leaks if the water vanes are broken or plugged. He was all set to take the dishwasher apart minutes before our guests arrived for the Superbowl. I told him to leave it alone because it would be inconvenient to step over dishwasher parts while hosting a party. He agreed. So, we left it alone.

I ignored it yesterday. But, this morning, I bit the bullet and examined the vanes. It looked like some rice was stuck in two of them. I took the vanes apart and flushed them out.

I ran the dishwasher on “rinse and hold” . Not a drip! So far so good, but I’m not calling this cured until we make it through 2 full cleaning cycles. Even better, just after the successful “rinse and hold” test, Nancy from Knitche! called. My yarn was here; my day was looking up. I drove over as soon as I could. It’s just yummy, yummy, yummy!

I don’t know what Cascade calls this color, but I’m going to call it “sunset”. That sounds better than red-orange-pink, and it’s really brightened up my day.

Soon, I can show the hand knitters what it will become.
