Jim took over my work room this weekend. I learned painting baseboard next to carpeting involves as much cussin’ as shaping a neckline in double bed tuck on the Passap.
Jim needed help from time to time, but not much. So, I snuck off, picked out a cone of yarn from my stash and knit a swatch. This is some sort of blue-green mystery yarn I bought for $6.50 a cone at a knitting and weaving store in Ames, Iowa. I vaguely recall being told it’s a rayon cotton blend. It knits up beautifully with tension setting six on my Brother 910. I washed the swatch in the machine and steamed it using my cotton setting. Still nice! Amazingly, I can steam it hard and prevent the edges from curling. Pretty, easy to knit, and it seems nearly indestructable.
I wish I knew what the heck the yarn was so I could find more and buy some. I’ve been draping the swatch over my hand, and this could make a very sexy dress.
I’ll be knitting a mirror vest by machine; hopefully I can show that off tomorrow or Wednesday.
