I read about this Ferragamo Gancio shoulder bag in The Chicago Tribune. Their fashion editors reported Neiman Marcus was selling them for a mere $1,650. Evidently, they are all the rage!

Fashionista that I am, I immediately visited the Neiman Marcus site only to find the bags were sold out! Yes, I said,“Sold out!”

Luckily, some clever knitterati with blogs have described how to create imitation bags– dubbed the “Fake-a-gamo”! You’ll find an all knit version at L.A. is My Beat. Kate at concocted another pattern, information to create her version is available at her knitting blog.

I googled and saw other knit bloggers have already joined the Fake-a-gamo band wagon. It’s a cute bag, but I haven’t finished my shawl so I think I’ll give this knitting meme a miss!

Still, no nominations for best overall blog? Hmmm.... Well, I did get a best overall blog nomination in comments, but I need to track more information down and enter those in the form myself. I'll do that after dinner or, heck, maybe tomorrow. :).
