On Saturday, I bought three flats of flowers; I got them in the ground just in time for the sprinkling we had on Sunday. The flats shown hold:

Nicotiana, dianthus and Cosmos for the north-west front corner flower bed.

Coral pink impatience to ring the front flower bed and entrance walkway.

Seed gernaniums and red impatience and white begonias for the back yard flower pots.

Blue dangly flowers to go around the oak tree that the former owners planted in a raised bed. (Bless them.)

Can you believe Robert and David accused me of buying the Cosmos in honor of Cosmo? I claimed that had nothing to do with it.

Anyway, in case you think planting these didn’t keep me busy enough on Saturday, I also transplanted a whole bunch of the starts I began in that garden house I bought last march. That included: basil, tomatoes pansies, columbines, cleome, dahlias, rosemary, chives and catnip. (Yes, the Catnip is for Cosmo.)

After planting all this, I was sort of pooped. My inlaws came over and I ate a huge dinner– prepared by Jim! I’d show you pictures of these planted in the ground, but they are spread all over, and mostly, all the photos look like pictures of itty bitty flowers surrounded by dirt and bark chips! Still, now that these are all in, I can get back to knitting.

I promise photos in a few weeks when the flowers are worth looking at!
